🌟 Celebrating Our Rich Mining Heritage: A Community Event to Remember 🌟

On August 24th, our community came together to honour our deep-rooted mining heritage, with over 100 attendees joining the celebration! It was heartwarming to see people of all ages reminiscing over old photographs, swapping stories about family members who once worked in the mines, and reliving memories of days gone by.

A special shoutout to Steve Spencer from the Upton and North Elmsall History Group for his fantastic table display, which beautifully showcased the local mining history. The display sparked conversations and brought back cherished memories for many.

The day was made even sweeter with some fabulous novelty buns, and the kids left with event bags generously provided by Friends of the Community.

It was truly a wonderful way to celebrate our heritage and a touching tribute to the people and times we hold dear. Thank you to everyone who made this day so special!
