Crochet Group Helping to Spread Awareness for Anti-Bullying Scheme in Schools

We’re thrilled to have been recommended by Maddie from Blossom Training and Development. Maddie who sits on the community panel for Wakefield Council had a need for a local knit and natter group to assist with a special project as part of raising awareness in schools for Anti-bullying.

Looking for a group to make a very special item to be used to support a story to be shared in schools which focuses on being kind. The main character is called “Pugney” a pug named after Pugney’s in Wakefield. The character is a small pug dog who faces unkindness and shares the message of how to deal with this and celebrates differences in people.

Bless member Charlie Joe Reynolds who is an avid member of our Stitch in Time crochet group took on the challenge of making the pattern and the finished Pugney toy. We are so happy to have contributed and will be mentioned as part of this fabulous school scheme.

Stitch in Time Lead Sharon, and Bless Founder Julie are super proud of Charlie’s achievements and we’re all looking forward to seeing this develop as the project rolls out in schools in 2024.
