Supporting NHS Careers Through Community Volunteering – A Shoutout to Karla

At Bless Community Support, we’re passionate about creating opportunities that not only support our community but also empower the next generation of healthcare professionals. That’s why we’re proud to offer volunteer placements that align with NHS career pathways, giving students and trainees valuable experience in real community settings.

Recently, we were lucky to have the wonderful Karla join us as a volunteer at our Hemsworth venue. As part of her final year in her nursing degree, Karla spent several weeks supporting our Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday sessions—helping set up, making cuppas, joining in with our wellbeing activities, and chatting with our attendees.

From day one, Karla was a total star, bringing warmth, kindness, and care to everything she did. She quickly became a well-loved member of our Bless family, and her presence made a real impact on everyone she met.

This week, Karla popped back in for a catch-up visit, bringing a lovely thank-you card and gift for the team. Of course, we had a special something ready for her too—a little keepsake from us to remember her time here.

To Karla: thank you for your dedication, compassion, and energy. We’re so proud of you and can’t wait to see you shine in your nursing career. You’ll be amazing—we’re sure of it!
